About the Political Action Task Force (P.A.T.F.)

Political Friends of Chicago Labor
Local 130 works hard to ensure our voice is heard in government, where law and votes rule our fate. Supporting those community leaders who have helped labor in the past and will help labor in the future is key, not only to our well being, but our very survival! These friends of Local 130 are critical to us and we need to do all that we can to ensure their political longevity.

Local 130 Manpower Anyone can write a check, but our leaders need people! People to rally and get the word out – to support and work in the local communities where critical votes can make or break a candidate. For three weekends prior to elections, Local 130 members engage strategic communities throughout our jurisdiction, passing out literature and verbally supporting our candidate for that area.

Other labor organizations provide feet on the street in the tens and twenties. On average, over 200 Local 130 members are mobilized on behalf of our labor friendly politicians each weekend. This is the kind of support that can’t be bought and it’s the kind of support Local 130 does best!

Thank You to Active P.A.T.F. Members
It’s you, the Local 130 Members, who are active in this process that make our union strong! We are extremely grateful to those who further the goals of our labor movement through this key democratic process. Many people today don’t have time, don’t care or don’t believe they make a difference, but they are wrong. They can make a difference. YOU can make a difference. It’s YOU, our active Local 130 P.A.T.F. brothers and sisters who make a difference today and build a better tomorrow for all of us. GET INVOLVED!

Political Action - Plumbers Local 130 "Get Involved"

We have created this page in conjunction with the United Association Political & Legislative Affairs Department to enable members to GET INVOLVED in the political and legislative process.  For local and regional politics we will update you with current information.

Through the International, you can visit their website to access effective grass-roots tools that will allow you to GET INVOLVED at both the national and local level.  Up-to-date information on recent events is also made available on both websites for key legislative and political issues relevant to workers and the labor movement.

The United Association views legislative and political affairs among our top goals and priorities, primarily because of the impact on jobs and on our future.  And, today, the need for every UA member to be politically and legislatively active is greater than ever before. Our efforts are focused on protecting rights of workers and unions and creating good jobs for working families.  Our strength, as always, lies in our solidarity – when our voices unite as one, we cannot be ignored.

Now is the time to GET INVOLVED!   Whether you are veteran UA member or a first-year apprentice --your involvement is essential to our future.
